generosity

'The God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness...'  Genesis 1:26

We are image bearers of God in which we reflect God's divine character, purpose and moral qualities such as love, reason and justice.  We are called to imitate God's generous nature by giving freely and abdundantly, from ourselves and our resources.

God's love for us inspires us to freely share our time, talents and resources with others out of love, not obligation, blessing others and living out Kingdom values.

Giving of ourselves

Each of us has the opportunity to freely share ourselves with those we meet in our everyday lives.  Through our work, our school, our family, our friends, our activities, our commuity.  In addition to this, sometimes we have the resources to generously share in a variety of ways within the life of the church.  This may be through:

prayer

We can pray alone, or with others.  We can pray for our world, our community, each other and ourselves.

volunteering

There are many ways we can help out with the various ministries our church is involved with.  We can offer our time to others through caring for them.  We can meet with other to Chat & Pray, in small groups, share in worship

leading

You can give of yourself by offering to lead one of the activities within church life or within our community connections.  And if you feel there is something you would like to see happening that isn't maybe God is inviting you to do something new?

Giving of our finances

The many and varied ministries of the church would not be possible without faithful financial support which pays for resources, electricity and gas, building and maintanance, staff and so on.   We also seek to be generous with our finances giving to other good causes outside the church. Here are a few different ways in which you can financially support the church.

standing order

This is the best way to give regularly.  Simply set up a standing order with your bank which instructs it to send us an amount of money that you decide, on a date you decide, and at a frequency (usually monthly) that you decide.  You stay in control of your giving and are free to amend or stop at any time.  This is ideal if you have a regular source of income, like a salary or pension.  It is most helpful to the church in providing a regular and reliable source of income.

Standing Order Mandate

sunday offerings

You can always give a regular cash gift in any Sunday service.  Threre are always offering bags on the platter at the back of the church.  Feel free to put in whatever sum you feel is right for you or give a regular sum in cash. Even if you give through standing order, you can always use this as a top-up on occasions that you want to.
